Overview of a limber pine, Pinus flexilis taken along the Black Canyon Trail in the Santa Fe National Forest, 3 August 2001. The "leaves" (needles) are in bundles (fascicles) of five. It's named for the flexible nature of its branches.

Overview of Pinus leiophylla var. chihuahuana photographed on the Black Water Hole hike in the Peloncillo Mountains in the bootheel of NM. This pine is similar to Pinus ponderosa, but has shorter needles and smaller cones.
